Vegan Outreach
While a lifelong loving home for the animals in our care is great for the lucky few, we long for a world that is safe for all animals with respect to their relationships with humans. We believe that changing hearts and minds is the only way we will achieve this end. From the start of our journey we have participated in vegan outreach that featured yummy food samples while offering information to accompany the taste-tempting lure.
Since 2017, we have organized and hosted our signature event, the Annual Vegan Dairy Fair in Boulder, Colorado. The 4th was scheduled for 2020 when the world shut down, but we plan to return with a bang on May 7, 2022. The fair is a food festival and expo held to encourage people to explore the great variety of plant-based dairy products and to expose them to the grim reality of conventional dairy made from cow’s and goat’s milk. The fair is held in May to coincide with Mother's Day and honor mothers of all species.
For years we have participated in a variety of events where we have set up tables and booths where we sampled delicious vegan food, offered recipes, distributed literature and made ourselves available to answer questions and provide all sorts of information about veganism and the plight of the animals. For over a decade, we have taken advantage of the generous grants provided by VegFund to help pay for food, literature, supplies, table fees and more. We have done outreach on college campuses, at farmer’s markets, at festivals and for the past several years as welcomed guests at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley’s annual Puttin’ on the Leash Gala and Doggie Dash 5K walk/run fundraisers. The latter is one of our favorite events and was featured in an activist spotlight on the VegFund Website.
Please let us know of any opportunities where we may staff this type of outreach booth. Covid has put a hold on these activities for over a year now, but it seems that things are slowly returning to normal and we can’t wait to get back out there.

Doggie Dash
One of our favorite venues - a generally receptive and enthusiastic audience, a beautiful setting alongside the Boulder Reservoir, but best of all - hundreds of dogs!!!
Puttin on the Leash
This annual HSBV fundraiser is attended by hundreds circulating amongst dozens of restaurants and vendors sampling their food. It’s a fast-paced event where we are hustling the entire time to serve everyone. We always get a lot of expressions of appreciation for being there because we are a welcome presence at what definitely isn’t, but should be, an all vegan event.
CU Outreach
Campus outreach is always fun and it’s so heartening to see the students embracing our message as they are the future.
Vegan Dairy Fair
This is our big event. This annual expo and showcase of all the plant-based milks, cheeses, yogurts, dips, dressings, ice creams, confections, and more is a very popular celebration.
